Real Housewives of New York alum Ramona Singer told Dorinda Medley that she feels RHONY is as iconic as I Love Lucy and Friends.
Ramona joined Dorinda on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked for an update on the Legacy RHONY cast. She also pitched an idea to get the OG cast back on Bravo, in a different context.
The pitch:
Ramona began, “I think it would be really fun if we could be back on a regular show like we were before, but something different.”
“I would love us all to get together on Bravo like Below Deck. Could you imagine all of us housewives on Below Deck making the staff go crazy?”
She joked, “If Luann made the wrong move, she’d be falling off the boat, drowning instead of falling into a bush.”
Dorinda corrected her. “Luann would be in the Captain’s cabin.”
Re: the reboot cast …
When asked if the RHONY Legacy cast had any contention with the reboot cast, Dorinda made it clear there was no drama. “No. One had nothing to do with the other.”
“That was a much more higher up [executive] thing.” She added, “I never see them.”
Dorinda also wanted to clarify the current status of the friend group from the Legacy cast. “We’ve always [hung out.] We’ve never stopped hanging out for 25 years.”
Ramona chimed in. “We are genuine friends and have this bond. Andy used to say, ‘I can’t believe after filming the reunion, you girls are all having dinner together. Who does that?'”
Ramona sees RHONY on the same level TV’s most prestigious shows:
“What I think is really cray cray right now,” Ramona continued, “is that our show has become an icon show like I Love Lucy and Friends.”
“When I walk in SoHo or the West Village, the 20-year-olds and the 30-year-olds, they’re all approaching me. They’re watching all the reruns. ‘Oh my God. You’re Ramona. I love you on the show; I love Dorinda; I love that show. It’s so much fun. It’s iconic.’ They’re repeating it over and over.”
“Where are our residuals, Dorinda?”
