Rachael Kirkconnell was blindsided by Matt James breakup..and subsequent Instagram announcement.
In case you missed it: On Thursday, former bachelor, Matt James, posted that he and his girlfriend have called it quits after four years together.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding,” Matt began his breakup announcement.
“Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.”
Not only did fans clock Matt’s bizarre post, but they were also puzzled how this happened since the couple is currently abroad.
One day prior to his post, he shared a video of he and Rachael from their London food tour.
Don’t worry, Rachael and her fam felt the whiplash too.
The Blindside
Rachael has yet to issue an official statement following the split. We also don’t know exactly what transpired leading up to it. But we do know it was a “blindside.”
The creative director “liked” a few comments from the Instagram reel she posted to celebrate Matt’s bday back in December.

Trinity Kirkconnell, Rach’s sister, replied to a fan comment on TikTok alleging Matt’s announcement came just THREE hours after the pair split.
In addition to that, Trinity commented on another TikTok video about the split:
“Yea so they were still together when he was posting all that… just to give some perspective on the timeline of things.”
The internet theorized this was a prank to conceal an engagement but it’s pretty obvious this is the real deal.
