After Love Island USA fans voiced their frustrations with the Peacock app crashing out during voting hours, voters were given extra time to have their say in the first recoupling of season 8.
Speaking of loud voices, Love Island USA viewers took to social media to communicate their frustrations with the show’s technological issue.
The glitch heard round the world:
Fans were told, “Vote tonight to choose which Islanders the new Bombshells — Sol, Jen and Caleb — should couple up with! Voting opens at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and closes at 1 a.m. E.T./10 p.m. PT. Voting is open in the U.S. only. Link in our bio.”
After the app users were instructed to provide their phone number, the app glitched to a “network error” message. Some people noted on social media that the vote eventually worked for them after they re-downloaded the app or kept refreshing. But, the backlash was so strong, the powers at be decided to extend the voting window.
Love Island USA’s social media team took to Instagram to pull viewers for a chat about the app. “For those of you experiencing issues registering to vote, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is actively working on it. Stay tuned for updates. 💕🏝️ “

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the first three days of season 8 generated 824 million viewing minutes, the highest total ever for a Peacock original series over that timeframe. That marks a 74% increase compared to the first three days of season 7.
Peacock also shared that 23% of viewing this week came from mobile devices, based on its internal data. That works out to roughly 190 million minutes watched on phones and tablets, while the remaining 634 million minutes came from TV screens.
Keep in mind that season 7 of Love Island USA was one of the biggest streaming hits of 2025. So, expect Love Island to continue its cultural impact.
