Southern Charm alum Olivia Flowers and Alex Williams have ended their engagement. The wedding was scheduled for next month.
Change of heart:
Olivia’s PR rep gave a statement to PEOPLE. “After much thought and many heartfelt conversations, Olivia and her fiancé Alex have made the difficult decision not to move forward with their wedding. This was not a decision made lightly, but one grounded in deep mutual respect and love for one another.”
“While this isn’t the path they originally envisioned, they are profoundly grateful for the love and support of their friends and family. Alex and Olivia remain committed to each other with a renewed sense of clarity, strength, and appreciation for honoring one’s heart. She is very appreciative of your grace and kindness as they move through this transition together.”
Olivia’s had cold feet for months:
While chatting with Sophisticated Weddings earlier this year for the cover of the magazine’s Spring/Summer issue, Flowers said that she and Williams were approaching wedding planning as a “team,” but that her indecisiveness made things challenging.
“I’ve always been an indecisive person, but being engaged has really tested just how indecisive I am. The hardest part (so far) has honestly been deciding on the city we want to get married in. Because, growing up, we moved a few times so I have a couple different hometowns.”
“I always thought I’d get married in one of these places. But once we discussed the possibility of doing a destination wedding, all hell broke loose. There were just too many options to explore. I was quite literally all over the map.”
