Nelson Thomas, aka Nelly T, is still processing everything that went down following his removal from the competition series.
The Challenge veteran took to Instagram to reflect on competing this season alongside his longtime friend Cory Wharton, who also left the game early.
“We both went home, and I’m still processing everything that happened and trying to find the right words to explain it to my fans, friends, and family,” Nelson wrote on Sept. 24.
“But I believe everything happens for a reason.”
ICYMI: Nelson, Leo Dionicio and Josh Goldstein were all disqualified from the game following a heated altercation that involved an alleged racial slur.
While the show did not explicitly explain what led to the triple disqualification, Nelson later confirmed reports that Josh allegedly repeated a racial slur.
Nelson admitted that he became “outraged” following the incident and began destroying items in the kitchen.
In his Thursday statement, Nelson reflected on what he’s learned from the situation.
“One thing I’m learning through all of this, think before you act, and think before you speak. Words have power, and once they’re out there, you can’t take them back. I just need a little time to process it all,” he wrote.
For context, Cory left Thailand early after receiving an emergency call regarding his daughter Maya, whose lung had collapsed amid complications related to her heart condition.
