Teresa Giudice‘s 20-year-old daughter Milania Giudice’s domestic violence case has been pushed back following the troubling airport incident involving the Real Housewives of New Jersey family.
According to Page Six, the 20-year-old daughter of was scheduled to appear virtually in Montville Township Municipal Court following her May arrest for simple assault. However, Milania’s attorney, Alan Kraminsky, requested that the hearing be postponed.
The judge granted the request, and Milania is now scheduled to return to court on December 1.
“Without getting into the specifics, I determined that adjourning the hearing was the appropriate course of action,” announced Kraminsky. “I join Milania’s family in respectfully asking everyone to give her the privacy and space she needs.”
The legal development comes days after Milania was involved in a disturbing incident at Tampa International Airport. Police were called to the airport last Wednesday after Milania became agitated while traveling with Teresa and her older sister, Gia Giudice. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and help the family get Milania to treatment.
Bodycam footage showed one officer telling another that Milania had “just got out of a Baker Act facility.” The Baker Act allows a person to be involuntarily held for up to 72 hours for a mental health evaluation.
The officer also said Milania’s family had hired a counselor and was attempting to get her into a treatment facility. When asked whether Milania was a danger to herself, the officer responded, “Yes,” and characterized the situation as “serious.”
Gia could be heard telling her younger sister that she wanted her to “get better” and that the officers were there to help them get Milania to treatment.
At another point, Milania became emotional while speaking with Teresa. “I’m trying to save your life,” Teresa told her, according to the footage, while urging her daughter to get help. Teresa also told officers that Milania “has fentanyl in her system.”
