Mia Thornton clarifies why her son’s paternity was brought up on the Real Housewives of Potomac.
This season, the Thornton household(s) are down bad. Mia and her then estranged husband, Gordon Thornton, are at odds over the paternity of their youngest son.
Because of Mia’s infidelity with Inc, speculation arose on whether Jeremiah was biologically linked to Inc or Gordon.
Mia received a ton of online backlash with fans claiming she’s harming her son in the long run with having his paternity be a storyline.
However, Mia is clapping back and placing blame on Gordon.
Following last night’s episode, Mia took to her Instagram and Twitter account to share screenshots between she and Gordon, as well as “set the record straight.”

“I was NOT the one who brought the questioning of my son’s paternity into the public eye—his father did. I did NOT expose my infidelity to the world—my husband did,” Mia begins.
“It was Gordon who chose to air our family matters on TMZ and later went on a public apology tour during last year’s reunion. He revealed something | had been protecting him from for years: his diagnosis of bipolar disorder, which causes him to behave unpredictably.”
“He alters the narrative, leaving me to navigate around the truth. As individuals with Bipolar can look, sound, and seem just as “normal” as other people do, it’s those closest to them that get bit. I’m fine with being labeled a “liar” if it means protecting my family, but it’s heartbreaking that people still choose to believe Gordon when he told you all who and what he is capable of.”

From where I’m sitting, Mia is using Gordon’s diagnosis to her advantage. Mia might be all the things she claims she is, but it does not come across on the show..
