Melissa Gorga’s claim to fame might be sprinkle cookies, but she’s now adding “Bravo security advocate” to her résumé.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star revealed on Jeff Lewis Live that she was the reason production agreed to have security present during filming for Wife Swap: Real Housewives Edition.
Initially, it was a “hard no” for Melissa to join the cast — but once she got Bravo to agree to extra security on their dime, it tipped the scale.
“So all the Housewives can thank me!” she joked.
Melissa explained that she wasn’t comfortable sleeping overnight in a stranger’s home once cameras stopped rolling.
For context, Wife Swap places Housewives into the homes — and lives — of everyday families. They have to live by their new family’s rules before taking over and running the household Housewife-style.
Before Bravo caved to her request, Melissa even asked to leave each night with production, but that would’ve ruined the social experiment.
“What if he gets up and starts killing me, or what if this woman starts stabbing my children?” Melissa said.
Thankfully, for all parties involved, Bravo agreed to have security present for the week they filmed with their new families.
ICYMI: The Wife Swap: Real Housewives Edition premiere was delayed a week after Wendy Osefo’s episode was pulled amid her fraud charges. The series will now debut October 21 on Bravo.
