Meghan Markle halted her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast, but that’s because she and Prince Harry are allegedly slated to sign a multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix.
Additionally, according to reports from Page Six, Meghan’s show, With Love, Meghan, will return for a second season.
What’s to expect:
A source told the tabloid, “There are more TV projects coming soon with both the duke and duchess.”
For one, Harry and Meghan are set to follow in the footsteps of former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama. Their production company, Higher Ground, has a similar deal with Netflix.
Also, despite it being relentlessly mocked on social media, With Love, Meghan, will return in September.
Fun facts …
- The second season of Meghan’s lifestyle show was filmed at the same time as her first season.
- It was alleged that Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos remains a “huge fan of Harry and Markle and regularly dines with them.”
The numbers:
Rumors about the status of the Sussexes’ Netflix deal only “ramped up last week.” With Love, Meghan was at No. 383 in Netflix’s semi-annual report, “What We Watched.” It received a total of 5.3 million views since its March 4 debut.
While being number 383 doesn’t seem impressive, it was out of 7,500 shows. An insider pointed out that put With Love, Meghan in the top 5% of Netflix shows. It outperformed other leading “lifestyle” shows such as The Great British Baking Show, two seasons of Chef’s Table, and Season 9 of Queer Eye.
