Love Island UK and The Traitors US breakout star Maura Higgins revealed that she is nervous for Dancing With the Stars, but looks forward to the challenge.
In an interview with Pause Rewind, Maura spilled, “I start [rehearsals] on Wednesday. I’m terrified.”
“I swear on my life I don’t know who my partner is,” continued Maura. “I’m hoping it’s Mark [Ballas] or Val [Chmerkovskiy]. Obviously, I know Mark from The Traitors. I met Val, and we did a little dance thing, so I’d be happy.”
“I can’t dance.” Maura continued, “I feel like I’m not going to be much competition, but I’m going to try my best,” promised the Irish reality star.
Maura wanted to do DWTS “because it’s a challenge … and the glitz and glamour.”
Rob Rausch, who deceived Maura and became the winner of The Traitors US, laughed when Maura said she was looking for a challenge. Maura noted that dancing in full glam is a more suitable challenge for her than the physical challenges The Traitors players endure.
Maura mentioned Val and Mark and two pros she’d be happy to be paired with, but she also named who she doesn’t want to be paired with … Gleb Savchenko.
Being “loyal” to Brooks Nader – who was partnered with Gleb … and dated him – is important to Maura. “I’m friends with Brooks. I really don’t like the way he speaks about women. I don’t want to spend all my time with someone like that. No thank you.”
