Mark Ballas is dealing with both a viral infection and social media backlash.
Due to a lingering illness, the Dancing With the Stars pro has had to sit out multiple performances on his doctor’s orders.
However, fans who traveled to see Mark and his former DWTS partner reunite on stage weren’t as forgiving.
Mark revealed on Instagram he received hate messages and even threats following his cancellations.
Earlier today, the professional dancer promised to perform, saying he wouldn’t let his illness “affect his flow.”
“I WILL be performing tonight. I may not be at my best but I’m gonna give you EVERYTHING I GOT.”
Though he attempted to push through, he ultimately did not complete Monday night’s performance.
“I tried my best but I am still recovering and probably should have waited, as I am not fully healed & my voice totally went out on me halfway through the first song,” Mark wrote.
He continued, “I apologize profusely to all that came out to see me and this wonderful cast.”
