Love Island UK breakout star Maura Higgins won American fans over during her time on The Traitors US alongside Dancing With the Stars‘ Mark Ballas, who thinks she has the “guts” to win the coveted DWTS Mirrorball.
Mark chatted with Evan and Danny from Page Six and talked about his confidence in Maura.
“I haven’t seen her dance, but she’s my friend from The Traitors‘ castle. We would talk about it: “I want to do Dancing With the Stars.” Mark told her to “manifest” a spot on the cast. It worked! “Maura manifested this into a reality.”
“She tells me she has two left feet,” continued Mark, “but we have remedies for that on our show. What I love about Maura, as you could see on The Traitors, she has guts. They say, ‘The Fighting Irish.’ She’s got those guts.”
ICYMI, there have been social media conversations about the wide discrepancies in dance experience within the cast (again) for season 35. “Sometimes I think the most technical dancer isn’t always the move. If it comes from [the heart], that can outweigh the experience.”
“After being on [DWTS] so long, I’ve seen the best dancer go home in week 4; I’ve seen the best dancer win; I’ve seen someone who’s not technically the best dancer make it to the end. You just never know. You can’t plan for it. Just do your best.”
ICYMI, Maura has said on multiple occasions that she’s hopeful she’s partnered with Mark Ballas for season 35 of DWTS. “When I got the news, I texted him, ‘I’m going to beg for you. I really want you to be my partner.’ He was like, ‘Let’s just pray. It has to happen.’ He knows that I will give it my all.”
