Love Island USA is returning to Fiji for its eighth season on Tuesday, June 2 with Ariana Madix returning as host.
In addition to the Love Island news, Peacock also revealed that its second installment of the spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa will debut with two episodes on Wednesday, April 15.
Love Island USA:
Following all the season seven casting drama, it was reported that Love Island USA producers were looking to cast “people who are very green to TV” with “not a lot of knowledge of the show or how it works” for the upcoming season.
Per Cosmopolitan‘s insider, season eight casting directors were keen on looking for people with “full, big personalities” and are prioritizing “confidence above all else.”
“They seem to want to deliver a type of cast they’ve never tried out before.”
While the official schedule for LI: USA hasn’t been announced, the last several seasons have dropped new episodes on Sunday-Tuesday and Thursday and Friday. Typically, the show is dark on Wednesdays, and Aftersun airs Saturdays. (There’s been no word if Maura Higgins will return as host of Aftersun.)
Beyond the Villa:
Islanders from last year’s Love Island USA season 7 Bryan Arenales, Gracyn Blackmore, Jeremiah Brown, Clarke Carraway, Amaya Espinal, Hannah Fields, Pepe Garcia, Iris Kendall, TJ Palma, Andreina Santos, Chris Seeley, Belle-A Walker, Coco Watson, Taylor Williams, Charlie Georgio, and Austin Shepard have returned for another summer on the small screen.
The dramatic first teaser footage shows the stars return home “after a life-altering summer in Fiji and navigate their newfound fame,” as a logline puts it.
“Surrounded by familiar faces and past connections, these Islanders test their romantic relationships in the real world, resolve unfinished business with their exes and discover that life outside of the villa comes with its own set of challenges,” teases the logline.
Another surprise familiar face pops up at the end of the teaser … Nic Vansteenberghe, the season 7 runner-up who is dating girlfriend Olandria Carthen.
Two new episodes of Beyond the Villa will stream weekly on Wednesdays at 9pm.
