Lindsay Hubbard‘s baby girl, Gemma, caused West Wilson to get up in his feels.
The Summer House star told PEOPLE how meeting baby Gemma changed his perspective on a major life decision.
West’s change of heart:
The Complex Sports journalist had a “pivot” in POV after meeting Gemma. He explained that before meeting Lindsay’s daughter, he had “not had a lot of good baby experiences in my time.”
“They just always cry or there’s been a disconnect with the babies that I’ve met. But, Gemma was so personable. She just locks eyes with you and makes faces and reactions.”
“I just had the best experience.” 30-year-old West “almost cried twice” while holding Lindsay’s baby. “I felt โ not like a father โ but I feel like I connected with her specifically and it changed everything.”
“That’s probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever said, but it was awesome. I just had a great time.”
While Wilson didn’t “love” babies, he reasoned we were all babies once. “I was just like, ‘Okay, cool. It has to have a job one day and be normal.'”
ICYMI:
In March, the new mom poked fun at West Wilson for insinuating she would not be returning for season 10 after welcoming her daughter, Gemma.ย West also teased he wouldnโt be open to babysitting.ย
Lindsay reminded the newbie that he got on the showย becauseย of her. Not literally, but because of the work sheโs put in these past nine seasons.ย โThe problem Iโm having is I just became a mother and this is my job and I need to be a provider for my daughter. And you going around being like, โthereโs no wayโ is not really helpful and is actually really hurtful.โ
โIf you want to go, letโs f*cking have a media war. Iโm down. I am so down for a media war with West Wilson.โ
Lindsay and West have come a long way in two months!
