The Valley‘s Lala Kent opened up about her “rare reaction” to a bug bite while on a previous vacation in Hawaii.
On iHeart Radio‘s podcast Untraditionally Lala, the Vanderpump Rules alum recalled an issue she had after Bethenny Frankel shared she contracted a bacterial infection in St. Barths.
Lala’s story time:
“I have to tell you guys a story. So I wake up one morning and I look at my body. There’s like what looks to be little bites. It starts on my chest and on my back.”
“I’m like, this is freaking weird. I thought that maybe I brought like a sand mite home from uh Hawaii. The mom of two noticed the bites were “becoming bigger and weird,” and noted that they were “itchy” and “gnarly.”
“I’m going to call it what it is,” declared Lala. “Boils. They were f*cking boils.” The reality tv personality recalled her boils were “oozing” and she referred to herself as “patient zero.”
A medical professional entered the room to lance the boils for testing while wearing a “hazmat suit.”
The Doctor’s notes:
Testing determined that Lala did not have a bacterial infection, like Bethenny Frankel contracted over NYE. Instead, she had a staph infection, chicken pox, or monkey pox.
Lala was concerned about her appearance, so went to a dermatologist. “They put me on a steroid, two steroid creams, an antibiotic, and a steroid oral. I was worried about scarring.”
“Biopsy comes back, and it’s most consistent with what looked like a rare reaction to a bug bite. Yeah, so mine was not bacterial like Bethenny Frankel’s,” Kent said.
