Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards reflected on her 26-year long marriage to Mauricio Umansky and the alleged ‘Housewives’ marriage curse.
While promoting Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip on The Today Show, Kyle explained what she thinks goes wrong with Bravo marriages.
Kyle was asked, What impact does HW have on marriages? “I’m asked that a lot now,” began Kyle. “I’ve always been asked that. I used to say that I think sometimes people go into this because there are cracks in their marriage and it’s a way to get some sort of freedom.”
Kyle clarified, “That was not the case for me. So I don’t necessarily believe in the ‘Housewives curse,’ but I do believe that fame and money and two busier schedules are not good on a relationship.”
“Although when you look, you see ‘divorce, divorce, divorce’” within the Housewives universe. “That does not look good.”
Kyle noted that the fact that she and Mau had stayed together so long “made it even more difficult” to split. “It was hard going through that separation with strangers coming up to me and commenting. Oddly, I felt like we had not only let down our family, these strangers who were looking up to us.
