Kyle Cooke is speaking out after news of his separation became public.
“I think people will be surprised, but also happy, to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” Kyle told Adam Glyn in a video shared via TikTok on Thursday, January 22.
“Obviously the internet’s gonna do its thing, but you know, we literally pushed send together.”
ICYMI: after weeks of speculation, Kyle and Amanda confirmed they were splitting after four years of marriage.
The former couple shared that the decision was both mutual and amicable.
Fans had also picked up on signs that Amanda may have been living separately from Kyle — which he confirmed was, in fact, the case.
“It was the worst-kept secret. We just weren’t ready to talk about it,” he said.
However, with Season 10 of Summer House premiering in just two weeks, fans questioned the timing.
Kyle explained because of the full press schedule ahead — and a season heavily focused on their relationship struggles — they decided it was best to “rip the Band-Aid off.”
“This isn’t like a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate. … We’ve got each other’s back,” Kyle said.
Ultimately, the couple took their time figuring out how to address their fractured relationship publicly.
“We weren’t lying about it,” he said.
“We didn’t split, we didn’t separate. We were trying to figure out the best way to give our relationship another shot.”
“Ultimately, we decided we don’t wanna give each other false hope, we don’t wanna give our friends and family false hope, and we don’t wanna give fans false hope. … There’s no playbook,” Kyle said.
Summer House premieres February 3.
