New mama, mamacita Kristen Doute has lots of love for (most of) her costars on The Valley, but she chose Brittany Cartwright as her baby’s emergency contact.
In a cover story for US Weekly (get that coin, queen), Kristen explained why Brittany earned the coveted role to baby Kaia.
Kaia can count on Brittany:
“We were in our pediatrician’s office, and Brittany is our emergency contact in California.”
“I told her that, actually. I was like, ‘So I didn’t ask you ahead of time, but you’re Kaia’s emergency contact.’ She loves it.”
“[Brittany’s] been over a couple of times, but she’s so excited about it,” Kristen gushed to Us. “She knew the gender of our baby before we did, so it only makes perfect sense. She lives right down the street from us. I’m over there all the time.”
Kristen was asked if she would let Brittany’s estranged husband, Jax Taylor, babysit her daughter. “I wouldn’t let Jax babysit Luke’s Gecko, who requires no work whatsoever,” she giggled.
“Absolutely not. I wouldn’t let Jax babysit my Yeti. Like, no.”
And baby makes three!
Kristen and fiancé Luke Broderick welcomed baby Kaia Lily on June 11. “The inspiration for Kaia’s name, which is Hawaiian for ‘the sea,’ came from the couple’s affinity for the Aloha State where they ultimately got engaged.”
“We knew we wanted our baby’s name to have something to do, or revolve around, water. Lilies are my favorite flower. They’re associated with new beginnings, beauty, and also the name Lily indicates a ‘gentle and compassionate nature, suggesting a kind and caring personality.’”
