Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington were siblings on Game of Thrones, but are currently portraying characters in a romantic relationship in their new film, The Dreadful.
Smooching (former) siblings:
The two actors, who grew close playing brother and sister on Game of Thrones (later we learned were actually cousins, but alas), evidently struggled while sharing an onscreen kiss in their new movie The Dreadful.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by Entertainment Tonight, Kit and Sophie can be seen kissing in character before playfully retching after the director calls “cut!” The crew can then be heard laughing as the two actors pretend to be sick.
King and Queen of The North:
In a July 2025 interview, the ‘Sansa’ actress jokingly apologized to GoT fans, saying, “It’s really weird for all of us” that she and ‘Jon Snow’ are playing “lovers” in the new horror film.
On Late Night with Seth Meyers in August 2025, the mother of two recalled that she and her old friend were “both retching” during their intimate scenes. Looking at the script for The Dreadful before shooting, she saw nothing but “kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex,” she quipped. “I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot … that’s my brother.'”
In September 2024, Turner explained to The Times that she was the one who suggested the Industry star for the part. “They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, ‘You can’t not have Kit.’ It’s set around the time of the Wars of the Roses, so we’ll probably be floating about in robes on clifftops again.”
The Gothic horror drama, The Dreadful, is in select theaters and on digital Friday, Feb. 20.
