*NSYNC‘s Joey Fatone and Lance Bass are back together, but not for new music – the boy band members have teamed up to host Cocktail Wars, a new show on E!
Cocktail Wars will feature 10 episodes, with three mixologists competing in the ultimate cocktail-creation competition for a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000.
The *NSYNC alums were excited to team up for the project. Joey told PEOPLE, “It sounds like a lot of fun, and it’s in our wheelhouse. We do like to drink. We’ve traveled around and tasted many different flavors and drinks around the world.”
Each episode will feature a celebrity guest judge from a stacked lineup of cocktail connoisseurs, including Lauren Graham, the Ramonja duo (Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan), Rachel Maddow, and more. “We didn’t cast this thing until a week before, so it had to be people in New York. We were like, ‘Oh, we’re shooting a show! You wanna come on?’”
Lance beamed, “I can’t wait to watch the show because there are three times this season where I go, ‘This is my new favorite drink!’ And they just made it up on the spot. It wasn’t even a thing.”
“There’s like seven of his new favorite drinks,” joked Joey.
“We love to bust each other’s chops in the most fun way. I don’t think we’ve ever gotten annoyed on set or anything like that. I don’t think we ever have,” he continued. “We’re good at feeding off each other.”
“Don’t do a show with your best friend,” Lance quipped. “That’s all I gotta say!”
Cocktail Wars premieres Tuesday, Aug. 18 on E!
