Joel Kim Booster‘s behavior toward Shannon Beador was not consistent on and off the set of Bravo’s Love Hotel.
On camera, Joel praised Shannon for her growth since her DUI. Just after filming wrapped, he called her a “pathetic drunk.”
Joel exuded love towards Shannon in episode 3 of Love Hotel:
In a private conversation, Shannon and Joel discussed Shannon’s connection, not spark, with Earl the Pearl. She prefaced her statement with, “By the way, I’m no prize.”
Joel interrupted Shannon to share words of encouragement. “I’m going to stop you really quick, and I’m going to hold your hand.”
“You just said when you started that sentence, ‘I know I am no prize.’ Yes. You’ve made mistakes, everybody’s made mistakes. But, you bounce back.”
“You are a f*cking prize.” Shannon became emotional as Joel continued his sentiment. “I really hope you are able to focus on your worth and how amazing you are, and really internalize it.”
Joel told Shannon, “I didn’t mean to make you cry.” Shannon laughed, “It doesn’t take much.”
Joel got messy on social media:
Days later, the Fire Island actor ripped into the popular Real Housewives of Orange County star for her treatment of him and the show’s staff.
“Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI doesn’t make you a star.”
“It does not give you the license to treat people you work with like they are subhuman. Period.”

Instagram creator facereality16 dug up an interview Ricky Cornish did with Ashley Darby on October 2nd, 2024.
The RHOP beauty explained “That [JKB post] actually came out a day that we were leaving. So, that caught everybody completely by surprise. Out of respect for Shannon, [the cast] was very communicative about how to handle this. It was quite shocking.”
“Joel, I gave him props. He did a great job on the show as you’ll see. [But,] that was surprising. It caught all of us off guard.”
Shannon spoke out about JKB blasting her:
“I was at the airport. It came across all our phones,” Shannon began. “I really don’t know what it’s about. An hour earlier that night before the wrap party, [Joel Kim Booster] had tears in his eyes and he said, ‘I’m so happy for you.’”
Shannon believes her actions from her time on the show will speak for themselves. On October 4th, 2024, she said, “It’s really going to look silly for [Joel Kim Booster] because he had nothing but love for me the entire show.”
“What I’m sad about is I actually did some kind things on the show and people said I was kind. So, it’s hard for me to walk away from an experience I really enjoyed and have that damper on it. But, we’ll see what happens. I don’t know where it came from.”
