The Valley‘s Jesse Lally defended Danny Booko‘s drinking and his relationship with his wife, children’s mother, Nia Sanchez.
At an event with Us Weekly, Jesse assured fans that Danny shouldn’t be labeled a bad husband, father, or someone with a drinking problem.
Danny Darko?!
Jesse explained that his costars have reacted to “seeing certain things that he’s done this season,” which feel reminiscent of his drinking issues from season 2. “I think there were a lot of comments last season where drinking was an issue with Danny, but no one quite saw it.”
Without Brittany Cartwright’s estranged husband in the mix, making everyone else look like saints, Danny’s behaviors have been amplified. According to Jesse, however, that isn’t a fair summation.
“The reason why I support Danny is, I don’t think these isolated moments are [the] definition of his individual character. And I don’t think it defines their relationship either.”
Jesse added that their friend group “look up” the Bookos “based on their communication.” Plus, “how they handle four kids under four living in Santa Clarita,” which is “at least an hour to drive” to LA. “I drove up there last week for [their daughter] Adelaide’s first birthday, and it still took me an hour, and it was on a Sunday,” Jesse revealed. “So, God bless them. Give them a little grace.”
