The Valley‘s Michelle Saniei and Jesse Lally tell their side of the story regarding their finances amid their split.
During the After Show, both parties explained the money issues they faced in their marriage and in their divorce.
Michelle’s side:
“We were very successful. The problem was once I had a baby, I was working less. He just stopped working, and he got comfortable. He just thought, ‘Ok. I’m going to start spending, but not continue to [earn].”
“We did have millions of dollars and now that money is gone.”
Jesse’s side of the story:
“Michelle and I were 50/50 business partners. So, if our business was failing, we’re both at equal fault. Michelle had 100% access to all our accounts, from investment accounts to Isabella’s savings account, to shared personal accounts.”
“So, if there was an issue with spending, Michelle was 100% at fault as well.”
Michelle claimed Jesse is looking for retroactive pay:
“He wants me to pay for half of the wedding and all of this other bullsh*t. I never wanted a wedding. It was all Jesse’s idea. He took me to Napa. He’s like, ‘I’m only getting married once. I want to get married in Napa and do it perfectly. We only had 55 people at our wedding. It was a three-day weekend.”
“At the time, he was making a lot more money than me. He was like, ‘I got it. It’s fine.’ So, he took care of most of the bill. He paid for my dress. I think it cost us $140,000 for our wedding. He’s now saying, ‘You promised me that you would pay me half of the wedding.’ He has to agree, or we have to go to court. I’ve been trying to not do that.”
“He knows we don’t have that kind of money, but he wanted to feel like he was one of them.” Michelle explained that Jesse will ask Michelle for health insurance money because he’s out of money. “But, in the same breath, he has no problem tagging and going out to Craig’s that night to have a fancy dinner.”
