Kristin Cavallari‘s ex Jay Cutler‘s four day prison stint was reduced to two and a half days making the former NFL star a free man again.
The crime:
Jay’s sentencing began Monday morning on Sept. 29 after he pleaded guilty to charges he faced after being arrested in Oct. 2024 on suspicion of a DUI. The former Very Cavallari personality was expected to remain behind bars until about 10 a.m. local time on Friday morning, but was released early according to reports from PEOPLE.
It was reported that the former Chicago Bears quarterback was also required to pay a $350 fine. In addition to the short sentence and the minimal fine, Cutler will remain on unsupervised probation for one year and must attend a DUI safety class. His Tennessee driver’s license has also been revoked.
ICYMI:
Cutler was arrested in downtown Franklin, Tennessee, on Oct. 17, 2024 after he rear-ended another car. Then, Jay attempted to leave the scene. Unsuccessful, Jay tried to bribe the other driver with $2,000 in exchange for not calling the police. The victim, who also later sued Jay over the incident, called the police.
Officers with the Franklin Police Department responded to the scene and alleged that Cutler had “bloodshot eyes,” was “slurring” his words, and smelled of booze. Responding officers also said they found a loaded handgun and a rifle in Cutler’s car.
From the desk of Kristin Cavallari:
Less than a week after the accident, KCav told her podcast listeners she would “not be commenting on what happened.”
What Kristin did say was, “I do wish Jay nothing but the best.”
“I do hope that he gets the help that he needs. But, that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”
