Jax Taylor, who physically and mentally abused his wife, earned Andy Cohen‘s ‘Jackhole of the Day’ for wearing platform sneakers.
Bravo TV fans were quick to call Andy out for how amplifying something so trivial when Britt – a star of a show on his network – was thrown into a bush by Jax.
First things first …
Variety published an article, “On the ‘Valley’ Reunion, More of Jax Taylor’s Terrifying Domestic Abuse Was Revealed. Why Is Bravo Taking it So Lightly?”
William Earl reminded his readers that Jax threw barstools and a coffee table that left her with a blackened knee.
Then, he dropped Britt’s revelation from part one of The Valley’s reunion.
“He threw my Stanley cup and broke it,” she continued. “He threw my phone and broke it. He threw my laptop and broke it. He threw me into the rose bushes…”
Andy pivoted the convo:
The WWHL host followed up asking Brittany, “How long did you date Julian?”
William Earl noted, “Whether it was bizarre editing or an autopilot choice by the usually inquisitive Cohen, it was a response that seemed oddly coded in victim shaming. Sure, getting thrown into a rose bush is tough, but have you thought about how Jax feels about you dating his buddy?“
He also pointed out that Bravo posted a hotline screen for people struggling with substance abuse issues after the episode. Being that Jax was recently in rehab for drugs and alcohol, it makes sense.
But, what about Brit? “There was no similar message shown to viewers who might need help dealing with domestic violence.” Obviously, they didn’t consider how triggering the scene might have been.
Now, let’s talk about Jax’s platform shoes:
Instagram creator @facereality13 posted a photo of Jax’s reunion fit next to a photo of a pair of Toto’s “elevator” shoes. Her viral meme made it to WWHL, even earning Andy’s Jackhole of the Day.
Bravo may not get it, but @facereality13‘s Eliza does. She captioned the clip, “Well, my job is done here! Thanks for making this silly meme go viral and end up on WWHL!”
“The irony of Jax being Jackhole of the Day for his elevator shoes and not for physically assaulting his wife is not lost on me, but ‘that’s showbiz baby’ 🫠.”
