It’s a good day for fans of The Valley as Jax Taylor announced he won’t return for the show’s third season.
Jax was axed:
Variety published Jax’s statement. “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley.”
“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting relationship.”
“Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself, especially for our son, Cruz.”
The Valley (Jax-less Version):
Of course, Jax was gone for a considerable portion of season 2. Not only was there no lack of material without him, many of us thought the show was better without his toxicity.
In a prior interview Danny and Nia Booko did with Variety, they were asked if Jax is “needed” for The Valley’s third season, especially after him being absent from so much of season two.
“I feel like we did fine.”
ICYMI:
Just last month, Jax’s podcast tour was canceled due to “public scrutiny.”
After weeks of the 45-year old soon-to-be-divorce heavily promoting the tour, his team decided to pull the plug. They “cancelled the majority of the venues as they didn’t feel the timing for this was appropriate.”
“A couple of the venues cancelled on their own. They got heat from the public scrutiny” Jax received as a result of his actions. Once certain venues cancelled due to “pressure from the public,” his team decided to cancel the remainder of the dates.
A separate source told The Sun that Jax was still set to perform at City Winery Nashville this week on Tuesday, June 3. But, the club was notified “last minute” that the show was canceled with “no explanation” as to why.
