Charrisse Jackson-Jordan’s son is opening up about his private battle with colon cancer.
The Real Housewives of Potomac alum and her son, Jackson, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about his 2025 diagnosis and why he initially kept his symptoms to himself.
Last fall, Jackson noticed blood in his stool and changes in his bowel habits.
However, the model, then 27, decided to keep his symptoms hidden, brushing them off because he didn’t want to hear any bad news from doctors.
“I was just kind of hoping it would go away or hoping I could do something myself to fix it without telling anybody,” Jackson told the publication.
It wasn’t until Jackson went home for the holidays that his mom noticed his extreme weight loss and that he was lethargic and “had no color at all.”
Ultimately, bloodwork revealed his hemoglobin levels were dangerously low, and he was advised to go to the hospital for a blood transfusion.
Jackson ended up being hospitalized for three days, receiving blood transfusions and undergoing a colonoscopy and a slew of other tests.
The Diagnosis
At just 27 years old, the reality star received an official colon cancer diagnosis after doctors found a tumor.
Thankfully, due to early detection, Jackson’s cancer hadn’t spread, and he began weekly radiation treatments two months later.
Following a month of recovery from radiation, he underwent four months of biweekly chemotherapy.
As of early September 2026, Jackson’s scans showed no evidence of disease, and he was declared cancer-free.
Now, Charrisse’s son says he’ll continue to have routine checkups every three months.
“Even if you’re young in your 20s, you’re not invincible,” Jackson added.
“On paper, I was doing everything right. I was healthy, working out every day, particular about my diet, and then this happens. So just pay attention to your body.”
