Heather Gay is rooting for her Utah sisters!
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star spoke exclusively with People about her connection to the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives crew.
“We have mostly parasocial relationships online, but we see each other at events and stuff,” Heather shared.
“I love them. I champion them.”
As a once-devout Mormon now navigating single motherhood and running her own business, Heather sees herself reflected in MomTok.
“Truly, we’re all each other’s got, and so we really need to champion each other,” she said of the RHOSLC and SLOMW worlds.
“There’s not a lot of women business owners and thriving, outspoken, beautiful, strong women, and I think they represent all of that. I’m proud they’re calling themselves Mormon wives. I identify with it.”
Shockingly, Heather hasn’t met any of them — yet she’s still 100% in their corner.
“I think they are Salt Lake City housewives 20 years ago,” she said.
“Their Mormonism will change the more they are introduced to things outside of our bubble and the more that they have independent thought and independent income. That was true for me, and I was as devoted as they come. So I’m interested to watch their journeys.”
Speaking of journeys…
Heather recently hosted the Hulu limited series Surviving Mormonism, shining a spotlight on the painful realities some members face inside the Church.
P.S. Since Jessi Draper runs JZ Styles, and Heather owns Beauty Lab + Laser, a possible crossover isn’t a terrible idea…
Just saying.
