Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting former Project Runway production assistant Miriam “Mimi” Haley in 2006.
According to The Post, the 74-year-old creepy AF movie producer appeared in a downtown Manhattan courtroom in a wheelchair when he learned his fate.
The sentencing:
Prosecutors wanted Weinstein to get 20 years behind bars, while his lawyers asked for a nine-year sentence. Harvey’s sentencing will be followed by five years of supervised release and a requirement that he register as a sex offender.
“I am not a perfect person. I am a person who has made mistakes.” Harvey claimed, “I am not a violent man. I ask for mercy. I really do have remorse for Miriam Haley, but I have to reiterate my innocence.”
Mimi attended the hearing with her lawyer, Gloria Allred, and read a victim impact statement aloud in the courtroom, saying Weinstein “abused his position and power” and caused a “devastating effect on my life and security.” The Project Runway PA added, “It is a life sentence for me” after being sexually assaulted at his SoHo loft in 2006.
Following a 2020 trial in Manhattan Supreme Court, the ex-Miramax boss was initially found guilty and sentenced to 23 years in prison. Four years later, the New York Court of Appeals overturned the ruling with a 4-3 vote.
At the time, it was reportedly decided that testimony from “prior bad acts” witnesses should not have been allowed because it “was unnecessary to establish defendant’s intent and served only to establish defendant’s propensity to commit the crimes charged.”
Following a second trial with a new judge, Weinstein was found guilty of sexually assaulting Haley in Manhattan Criminal Court in June 2025. Haley took the stand during the 2025 retrial and tearfully recounted the 2006 attack.

She alleged that Weinstein had a driver pick the then-29-year-old up from her apartment and take him to his pad — where he allegedly almost immediately “lunged at” her, trying to kiss her as they sat on his sofa.
“I rejected him. He kept persisting, trying to kiss me. I was trying to get him off of me; I was trying to push him away from me.” Mimi continued, “I was trying to get him to stop kissing me and grabbing me,” she described before claiming Weinstein then “forcefully” performed oral sex on her.
Mimi continued, “I don’t remember all that much from the moment. I decided to check out.”
Weinstein is currently locked up at Rikers Island while serving a 23-year sentence on a separate California sexual assault conviction.
