Guerdy Abraira defended Teddi Mellencamp‘s choice to live life to the fullest as she battles stage 4 cancer.
The Real Housewives of Miami star, who was declared cancer-free in 2023, can relate to Teddi wanting to live as ‘normally’ as possible.
Guerdy is Team Teddi:
During an interview with Page Six, Guerdy revealed how she empathizes with the podcaster/Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum.
“Teddi and I are actually going to be together next … soon, I’ll say. That’s going to be good.” Guerdy teased, “I think there’s going to be something,” but remained mum about their plans from there.
“She’s going through it,” explained the RHOM personality. Cancer patients and survivors are “in a different phase of our lives.”
“I love the way she got herself a boyfriend. Here’s everyone, ‘You shouldn’t. You shouldn’t be.'”
“Who the hell are you to judge her journey? At the stage that she’s at, she can do whatever she wants.”
“Cancer is a thing that the people who have it or had it or are around people that have it can relate to. But one thing that we usually try to do less as survivors, thrivers, and everything is let’s try not to judge the decisions we make that’s good for us individually.
Teddi’s cancer update:
The Two T’s in a Pod host is currently undergoing treatment for stage 4 melanoma that has spread to her lungs and brain.
While she has had positive updates on tumor shrinkage through immunotherapy, she has also recently shared that she needs a break from the treatment due to feeling increasingly unwell.
Her doctors are optimistic about her progress, and she is expected to continue immunotherapy for the next two years, but at a lower dosage.
