Floribama Shore alum Kirk Medas has lost his battle with pancreatitis.
The former MTV reality star was admitted into the ICU with a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis.
Per the Gofundme originally made on Kirk’s behalf:
“The donation will help for medical bills and rehab. He has no medical insurance so your donations will be greatly appreciated. Please continue to uplift Kirk in your prayers.”
Ultimately, on May 2, Kirk’s Floribama Shore co-star Aimee Elizabeth Hall announced that the 33-year-old succumbed to his illness.
“I was at the beach when I felt it,” Aimee penned in a Facebook post.
“Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”
She goes on to say, “Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met, and a spirit that brought people together. He truly was the glue that held us all close.”
Kirk was in the hospital for two weeks prior to his untimely passing.
ICYMI: Necrotizing pancreatitis causes part of the pancreas to die, per Cedars-Sinai, while sepsis is described as the body’s extreme reaction to an infection that can result in organ damage or death.
