Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne Girardi received great news after herĀ $25 million legal fight came to an end before the case ever made it to trial.
Legal deets:
During a final pretrial conference, attorneys informed Judge Anne Hwang that āthe case has settled,ā according to court records obtained by PEOPLE. The filing stated that all pending motions and hearing dates were vacated, and a dismissal request must be filed by May 26. The court records do not disclose the settlement amount, which remains unclear.
How EJ got here:
Erika and her companies were accused of using more than $25 million in funds from the firm for personal expenses. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2021 by the trustee handling the bankruptcy of Girardi Keese,Ā Tom Girardi’s now-defunct law firm.
The case was moving toward a jury trial for months, with court records showing multiple scheduling conferences, mediation efforts and delayed trial dates before the parties ultimately reached a settlement agreement.
The latest development comes months after Erika addressed the lawsuit during part one ofĀ the RHOBHĀ reunion. HostĀ Andy CohenĀ asked what would happen if she lost at trial. Erika gave a candid response. āYou can file for bankruptcy, or you can fight it out in court,ā she said. āYou can go to trial, you can cut a deal, you can die in the streets. I have no idea.ā
The same day the reunion aired, the trustee sold the litigation claims to a third party.
