The Traitors US season 3 star Dylan Efron can add hero to his resume after helping two women who were struggling in the ocean.
During an interview on โBrooke and Connor Make a Podcast,โย Dylan shared a “random” and โreally realโ incident that happened when he visited South Beach with his friend Brennon and Sam Asghari.
Calls for help:
Dylan recalled, โI just walk up the shore for the first time ever. Iโm looking out, and thereโs people screaming in the water.โ He didnโt initially think it could be a shark because โthe currents were ripping.โ
โI just saw five girls, like, their hands were up, screaming. Thereโs people on the shore with their hands upโ trying to get help.
โSo I just looked around, and thereโs no lifeguards around. โฆ Me and Brennon just look at each other, and we just sprinted out there.โ
Not all heroes wear capes (nor should they):
The Down to Earth with Zac Efron producer explained that there were two women in the water closer to shore. They โalready had a guy helping them,โ while the other three were โout further.โ
โSo I swam one in, swam back for another girl,โ he explained.
โThe last girl I swam in, I was just trying to calm her down. Just saying, โBreathe. Breathe.โ And sheโs just wrapped me in the biggest hug, like, doesnโt wanna let go. So we hugged for like a full minute, just hugging this girl on the shore. Iโm like, โYouโre safe. Youโre good.’โ
โThe current was strong,โ he reiterated. โThe girls probably just got a little too far and got scared.โ
According to Dylan, the girl โnever said [another] wordโ to him. They both โjust walked away.โ
Dylan was built for this (literally):
When asked whether he hesitated to enter the ocean given the powerful rip current, Dylan replied, โIโm in the water a lot, so I just felt comfortable.โ
However, he did point out that he and Brennon โended up, like, a football field length awayโ from where they first entered the water. Once all parties were safe, officials entered the scene. They directed everyone in the ocean to come back to land.
