Denise Richards is open to communicating with her former friend, Lisa Rinna, but she’s not seeking her friendship.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show, Denise gave a status update on her relationship with her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Melrose Place co-star.
A fractured friendship:
While Denise isn’t in contact with Rinna, she said “never say never” when it comes to a reunion. But, the Denise Richards and Her Wild Things star doesn’t see a resolution coming “anytime soon.”
“I wouldn’t want to resolve stuff on a podcast for that level of our friendship. We were friends for over 20 years.” Denise explained how her relationship with Rinna differs from her relationship with Erika Jayne. “I had just met [EJ] on Housewives and I felt like, you know, we became friends. But Rinna, that’s different.”
Losing Lisa’s friendship was “really hard” for Denise.
Rinna was relentless with accusations about Denise. “That was the biggest reason why I didn’t go back for a third season because it was just, well, I was like, ‘No one likes me on this show anymore. Who would I even talk to except for Garcelle [Beauvais]?'”
Denise commented on Garcelle leaving RHOBH:
The Drop Dead Gorgeous actress was “so surprised” to learn Garcelle quit the Housewives. “She and I texted today. I’m happy for her if that’s what she wants to do. She’s gonna have so many amazing opportunities and great things.”
Denise noted RHOBH takes “a lot of your time and… is mainly focused on the women and the friendships. So, if you have other things going on, it’s hard to work around that and it’s hard for sometimes production to be able to shoot those things too.”
Looking back on the show, Denise noted she’s “glad” she did it as she made “great memories” and had a “good experience” overall.
