The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ Demi Engemann supported Whitney Leavitt after she revealed the online hate she and Mark Ballas received during season 34 of Dancing With the Stars.
ICYMI:
Whitney and Mark appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast after being eliminated in the DWTS semi-finals.
Not only did the partners discuss the hate they received online, but Mark Ballas also choreographed a five-star freestyle dance exploring the emotional toll the internet takes on people.
The message: “Social media is bad for your mental health” flashed on the screen after the performance.
From the desk of Demi:
“This broke my heart. These two people are amazing and didn’t deserve any of the hate they received. NO ONE DOES.”
“This message meant so much to me. These are my DMs and comments every time I open my phone from people who believe reality TV is ‘real’ and have never heard my story and don’t know me.”
“Way to call it out. It’s gone too far.”
“People are far too comfortable saying the things they say online. Also, Instagram needs to crack down on what they allow to be said … way too lenient. Enough is enough.”
