The ballroom dancing icon reportedly lost his battle with bone cancer.
Jackie Gill (Lenโs agent) confirmed the Strictly Come Dancing star’s death in a statement. “It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully.”
Len was “a much-loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.” TMZ reported Len passed “in a hospice in Kent โฆ surrounded by family.”
Survived by his wife, Sue Barrett, and his 42-year-old son, James, Len chose to retire from his role as DWTS’s head judge after the show’s 31st season.
“Iโve been with the show since it started in 2005 and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show but Iโve decided I want to spend more time with my children and family,” expressed Len at the time of his retirement announcement.
Len was grateful for his time on the wildly popular competition reality show. “It has been such a wonderful experience for me.”
