It was alleged that Celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis didn’t only struggle in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom, but behind the scenes, too.
According to reports from The Daily Mail, Giada’s longtime boyfriend, TV producer Shane Farley, tried to control production of ABC’s Emmy-nominated show during its 35th season.
The couple has been together for more than a decade, but rumors infer there is trouble in paradise. A source close to the situation called Shane a “total control freak.” Shane was referred to as Giada’s “boyfriend, manager, agent, bodyguard and publicist all rolled into one.”
It was alleged that Shane “behaves like Giada is Taylor Swift with a frying pan.” The source continued to spill that “Everything is treated like an enormous event requiring layers of protection and control.”
During Giada’s limited time on the show, Shane acted as if he’s an executive producer on the juggernaut competition series. She “thinks he knows television better than everyone else in the room. Everything has to go through Shane.”
The couple first met in 2013, when Shane was hired to help produce a show for Giada and another Food Network star, Bobby Flay. Shane’s first impression of his now-girlfriend was that she was “really smart and funny.”
Although Giada was eliminated for the “lack of seasoning” during her salsa performance, one would assume the BTS team is glad Giada’s BF is no longer lingering on set.
