Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Britani Bateman joined her niece, Carmen Lorell, for her American Idol audition, which aired on Feb. 2nd.
While Britani did sing with Carmen, Carmen auditioned solo.

For those curious, Britani’s on-again boyfriend is still in the picture. American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, asked, “Are you still dating Jared [Osmond]?”
Jared, of course, couldn’t resist inserting himself into the media chatter.

RHOSLC‘s Britani Bateman seemingly auditioned for American Idol!
From RHOSLC to Hollywood?
“Ding Ding Ding – I have an announcement,” began Britani. “As you saw, I’m going to be on American Idol next week with my niece, [Carmen Lorell Martin], and you may even hear me sing.”
Britani’s full audition is scheduled to air in Episode 2 on February 2, 2026. She auditioned in Nashville, TN, in front of judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
The preview:
Fox teased Britani’s appearance. “I’m Britani Bateman from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” she announced, following her signature Ting Ting Ting. In the preview, Carmen played the piano as she and her aunt Britani performed a powerful song.
While the judges didn’t seem excited to see her, they were seemingly excited to hear her. It appears Britani and Carmen nailed their audition, but we’ll have to wait for Monday to see for sure.

Britani’s no stranger to the stage:
In 1999, Britani played Ellen in the 2nd National Tour of Miss Saigon and performed as Ariel and Belle at both Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland. She also appeared in productions of Anything Goes and Evita.
Most recently, Britani played NYC’s 54 Below for a Mean-Girls themed holiday show. In a number inspired by Mean Girls‘ Jingle Bell Rock scene, Britani, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, and Angie Katsanevas reenacted the dance break that ‘The Plastics’ performed at the North Shore High School Talent Show. There was a surprise cameo from Bronwyn Newport as Regina George‘s mom at the end.
