Things still aren’t exactly kosher between Bethenny Frankel and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.
The former RHONY star admitted on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast that her relationship with Jason remains “strained.”
“We do both exist on this earth, so that’s positive,” Bethenny told host Benny Blanco during the Sept. 29 episode.
“It’s been a strained year. It’s been a challenging year.”
ICYMI: Jason and Bethenny met at a popular NYC nightclub in 2008. They began dating shortly after, got engaged 11 months later and tied the knot in March 2010.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Bryn, in May 2010.
As we saw on RHONY and Bethenny’s spinoff shows, things between the pair eventually became less than ideal.
Bethenny filed for divorce in January 2013 after the couple separated in December 2012, kicking off what would become a years-long legal battle.
“There were a lot of circumstances that have been too much,” she continued, adding of their “not garden variety” divorce proceedings, “Ten years on a two-year marriage.”
Bethenny also shared that their relationship deteriorated to the point where she felt completely detached, saying she lost respect for Jason and was deeply unhappy during their marriage.
Their divorce was ultimately finalized in 2021.
That same year, Bethenny was granted primary residential custody of Bryn and was no longer required to pay child support to Jason.
“Every single branch on the tree, bad,” Bethenny said of their relationship.
