Below Deck Mediterranean star Gael Cameron is opening up about the emotional toll she experienced following her ex Nathan Gallagher’s domestic violence arrest.
After a fan praised Gael for how well she handled the situation, the Season 11 star admitted she struggled more than people may realize. The BD Med personality wrote, “You handled it so well. No, I didn’t,” to her Instagram. “I lost myself; I lost my spark. I didn’t handle it.”
Gael credited her best friend with helping her through the difficult period. “My best friend did. She sat with me and let me talk about the same thing 50,000 times.”
ICYMI, Nathan was arrested in Australia in December 2025 following an alleged domestic violence incident involving an unidentified 29-year-old woman. He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent and common assault.
Nathan was granted conditional bail before later being convicted on three counts of domestic violence after failing to appear in court.
Us Weekly also confirmed that Nathan is the subject of an application for an Apprehended Violence Order filed on behalf of Gael in New South Wales. An AVO is a legal order intended to protect someone who fears violence, intimidation, harassment, or stalking.
Nathan addressed the allegations, acknowledging that he was not perfect but disputing the idea that there was only one side to the story.
“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t. I made mistakes, and I will take responsibility for my own actions.” Nathan continued, “I will not accept being portrayed solely through one account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it.”
Nathan failed to appear for his court hearing in Sydney, and authorities believe he has left the country.
