Ashley Darby is setting the record straight about comments she made regarding Angel Massie’s husband, Bobby, on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
“I do want to clarify something too,” Ashley said while appearing on Watch What Happens Live Feb. 1.
“Angel has said that I was making her husband look like an angry Black man. I really don’t appreciate that narrative,” she continued.
ICYMI: Bobby Massie took a lot of heat this season.
When the women called Angel to ask why she was running late to the family fun day, Bobby’s greeting was noticeably tense.
Monique Samuels also appeared to project her own former marital dynamic with ex-husband Chris Samuels onto Angel and Bobby, further fueling a “controlling” narrative.
Ashley went on to clarify that Bobby’s frustration was actually directed at production—not the women.
“He would raise his voice at that, and that is what I was talking about,” she explained.
“Never once have I said that Bobby was angry or aggressive.”
She concluded by asking Angel to stop “perpetuating” that narrative.
