Is it all happening for Ariana Madix? It’s rumored the Vanderpump Rules star turned Love Island USA host will be starring as Dolly Parton in an upcoming biopic.
Please note that this is a Blind Item. In other words, this is a rumor, not fact … (yet?!)

Let’s break down this rumor:
“A Dolly Parton biopic is coming. A certain blonde Broadway bombshell will [be] playing the country legend. Her career is sure to skyrocket with this announcement.”
Blonde = duh
Broadway = Ariana had two runs on Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago
Bombshell = (this was the most telling clue, imho) Love Island fans know that anytime a hottie walks in the villa, they are called ‘bombshells’
Career is sure to skyrocket = Sure. Ariana is BIG right now. In addition to the above mentioned jobs Ariana earned, she’s also a NYT bestselling author, co-owner of a immensely popular sandwich shop Something About Her, and even co-hosted E!’s Emmy Awards afterparty. With all of this in mind, there are still many people who don’t know Bravo’s breakout star.
Other casting theories (besides Ariana) to play Dolly:
- Kristen Chenowith for sure but Ariana would have been fun!
- Hmm guessing Megan Hilty
- I like Ariana, but seriously that’s who you thought it might be?😂
- I love Ariana and I think she’s gorgeous and she’s talented. But I think they’re gonna want someone a little more country than her. I see more Carrie [Underwood].
- No it’s Carrie St Louis
My (unsolicited) thoughts:
Number one, I don’t think Kristen Chenowith’s career would ‘skyrocket’ as she’s already on top.
Next, the word ‘bombshell’ is synonymous with Love Island USA which leads me to think it may be Ariana.
Number three, Megan Hilty would be an amazing Dolly and she’s well-known in the theater community, but is not a mainstream celeb. Megan was, however, a lead on the show, Smash from 2012-2103.
Number four, Carrie Underwood’s career, like Kristen Chenowith’s, has already skyrocketed.
Finally, I had no idea who ‘Carrie St. Louis’ was, until I saw her resume. She’s had a HUGE career on Broadway, and, well, the subject of the Blind Item said, “Meet Me In …”
Never forget, Jennifer Lopez was a working actress/dancer when she was cast as Selena Quintanilla in the movie, Selena. It’s a safe argument that this is the role that shot JLo into superstardom. Congrats and break a leg to the talented woman who gets chosen to play Dolly!
