Love Island USA‘s Alannah Keyser was officially fired from season 8 of Peacock‘s juggernaut reality show after a video and comments surfaced of Alannah using a racial slur.
According to reports from The U.S. Sun, “a production source said top execs heard fans loud and clear, and have already sent Alannah packing.”
Love Island fans noticed that Alannah was hardly seen on Tuesday’s episode. “Producers edited Alannah out as much as possible from episodes that were pre-taped before the resurfaced racial slur video was exposed.” The source noted, “She couldn’t be removed completely, but her scenes were significantly trimmed down in Tuesday’s episode.”
The tabloid’s source noted that the college student won’t be in any episodes going forward. “Alannah was removed from the show early and will not be in episodes from Thursday onward.”
“Producers were disappointed and embarrassed that this has become another mishap. They regret this has become another distraction from the crew’s hard work and the cast members who are there for the right reasons.”
Alannah was the second cast member fired from Love Island USA’s 8th season. Vasana Montgomery used a racial slur while rapping along to a song. During season 7, Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were both removed for using racial slurs.
