The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt promised fans they will see footage from her Dancing With the Stars journey on season 4.
Crossover content:
“People are gonna be able to see behind the scenes of my Dancing with the Stars journey, which I think is really cool,” Whitney teased to PEOPLE. “Not a lot of people have been able to see that, so I’m excited.”
She revealed that she secretly sent in audition tapes throughout her time on DWTS. Whitney was invited to audition in person two days after her elimination. She booked the role of Roxie the day after her audition.
When she found out she got the role, Whitney told PEOPLE, she was actually with her DTWS partner, Mark Ballas. He was “a huge advocate and motivator for me to go after it and really give it my all.”
“He was just so ecstatic and so excited me,” she continues of Ballas, who played Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Jersey Boys in 2017. “Mark saw the work that I put into it.”
Through Whitney’s rehearsal process, Mark has continued to support her. From sharing everything from the “technical things,” like how to preserve your voice and body during grueling hours in the theater, to more philosophical musings.
Mark’s most impactful suggestion was to “Live in the moment and be present, because that will be the most enjoyable.”
“And you’ll obviously perform better rather than just anticipating the next thing.”
Whitney’s Broadway debut:
Mark Ballas was asked (by Whitney) to “not come opening night” while she works out the kinks of the show. The DWTS pro does plan on seeing Whitney’s Broadway debut. “He’ll be out there.”
Whitney shared that her SLOMW castmates will be there for her Broadway debut. “Most of them are going to be there on opening night. So I’m excited to see them.”
