Tom Schwartz learned his lesson the hard way.
The Vanderpump Rules alum and former co-owner of the now-defunct Schwartz & Sandy’s admitted on Lala Kent’s podcast that he “will never invest in another bar in [his] life.”
“It doesn’t matter how much money I have,” Tom said on the October 13 bonus episode.
“I would never put my name on a lease for a bar again in my life.”
Tom’s trauma makes sense considering his passion project with pal Tom Sandoval went down in flames after Scandoval.
Once the affair news broke, Ariana Madix supporters flooded bad reviews online, and foot traffic tanked.
The bar’s reputation never recovered, officially closing in December of 2024.
The venture also caused major friction between Tom and his then-wife, Katie Maloney, who often felt the bar was taking priority over their marriage.
“It is f—ing stressful. It’ll eat you alive,” Tom admitted.
“Coming home late, it messes up your sleep. You miss all the holidays. It’s just not worth it. And the amount of money you can make is capped unless you scale and franchise.”
Schwartz revealed he lost over half a million dollars in the failed investment — a number that still stings but one he’s finally made peace with.
“I had so much pent-up resentment and frustration, and I let it all go,” he said.
“It felt so good, like a demon leaving my body.”
So no more bar ventures for this Bravoleb…just The Valley, therapy, and maybe a nap.
