A 12-episode mystery competition series called The Inheritance is coming from the makers of The Traitors UK.
Studio Lambert – who makes The Traitors for Peacock – has found success in the United Kingdom and the USA’s programming.
The premise:
Deadline reported, “The Inheritance sees 12 strangers arrive at a grand English country estate.” They are “lured by the opportunity to inherit a chunk of a fortune that belonged to a glamorous benefactor, known only as The Deceased.” The ‘Deceased’ (who will be played by a British icon) left video messages for the players from beyond the grave.
To release money from The Inheritance, players must work as a team to complete a series of challenges. To win the game, players must persuade all others that only they should be entrusted with the money.

Accolades for The Traitors:
With the success of The Traitors UK and The Traitors US, The Inheritance is certainly slated for success.
The Traitors UK earned 4 BAFTA Awards. In 2023, the production team won the Reality & Constructed Factual award while the host, Claudia Winkleman won Best Entertainment Performance.
For The Traitors UK’s second season won Best Entertainment Series. Season 3 earned the show its fourth award for Best Edited Series Documentary or Non-Fiction.
Meanwhile, back in America, The Traitors US earned three Emmy’s in its first two seasons. The first award went to Outstanding Casting for its first season. In 2024, Alan Cumming won Best Host and Outstanding Reality Competition Program for season two.
