Dancing with the Stars social media correspondent Sasha Farber spoke about his former partner, Selma Blair, who was recently arrested after she made a scene on an airplane.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Sasha revealed, “I have been talking to Selma. She’s doing great, and I’m thinking of her.”
As for his relationship with the actress, who was his partner on DWTS‘s 31st season, Sasha said, “We are family. She is literally my family.”
In fact, Blair is one of Farber’s past contestants he keeps in touch with the most. “I talk to everyone. Mary Lou Retton literally just texted me two nights ago, telling me that I saved her life, and she’s so grateful,” Sasha recalled of the Olympic gymnast. “She’s in the Bahamas, and she’s on a cruise, and just having a good time.”
“It’s things like that that really make the show. You make such a connection because this show, it’s just a family-oriented show. The people that you get to meet, they become your family for the rest of your life.”
ICYMI, Selma was arrested at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport before being taken to a hospital following an alleged altercation with crew members earlier this month.
After appearing in court the next day and pleading not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, she was released on bail.
Selma’s spokesperson shared a statement. “Fair reporting has been the exception, and in the space left by our silence, speculation has hardened into something being treated as fact.”
“We can, however, correct the record on a few points already in public circulation,” continued the statement.
“Selma Blair experienced a medical emergency on the flight. There was no attempt to open the door of the aircraft. Selma did not intend to harm anyone.”
