It takes Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent to make it on RuPaul’s Drag Race, but these queens serve more than CUNT … they are bona fide triple threats.
The following six performers gained notoriety on RuPaul’s Mainstage, but took their acts to Broadway’s stages.
Bob the Drag Queen
Making his Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Bob’s casting was widely celebrated.
Bob performed as Harold Zidler for an eight-week limited engagement.
Jinkx Monsoon
The most accomplished Broadway performer to come out of Drag Race so far, Jinkx won RPDR season 5 and RPDR All Stars season 7.
Jinkx’s Broadway credits include Chicago (2023, returned in 2024) as Mama Morton, Pirates! The Penzance Musical (2025) as Ruth, and Oh, Mary! (2025 and 2026) as Mary Todd Lincoln.
Marcia Marcia Marcia / Marty Lauter
The season 15 dragtestant made their Broadway debut as a vacation swing in 2018’s Kinky Boots.
Marty Lauter joined the 2024 revival cast of Chicago at the August Wilson Theatre. Marcia x3 played the role of Victor and served as an understudy for the Emcee.
Milan / Dwayne Cooper
Season 4 dragtestant Milan performed in Broadway productions including Hairspray, Motown the Musical, and Sweeney Todd.
Dwayne performed primarily as an actor/dancer under his real name before and after his season on RPDR.
Peppermint
Season 9 runner-up, Peppermint, made herstory when she originated a role in Broadway’s Head Over Heels. Peppermint became the first openly trans actor to do so on the Main Stem.
Valentina
Valentina (from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 and All Stars 4) is currently making her Broadway debut in the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show at Studio 54, playing Columbia.
This is a significant milestone because she is also being recognized as the first trans Mexican American performer in a principal Broadway cast.
