Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile took to Instagram after her facelift to share that she was doing well.
Pre-op:
Prior to the surgery, Wakile opened up in a video about why she decided to get a facelift at age 60.
“This year, I turned 60 and decided to do something for myself. Not to change who I am. I’ve been looking at the same face for 60 years, and I really like her. What I wanted was simply to restore and revive what time and life naturally change.”
“I’m sharing my journey because I know so many people worry about what others will say. The answer? They’ll say I had a facelift. And that’s okay,” she continued. “Can we normalize supporting one another instead of judging one another for the choices we make about our own bodies?”
“What makes someone feel confident and comfortable in their own skin is their decision alone.”
After thanking her doctors for understanding “exactly” what she wanted, Kathy explained that she wanted “a conservative approach that would leave me looking like myself, just a little more rested, refreshed, and revived.”
Post-op:
After her surgery, Kathy told her friends, fans, and followers that she was doing well.
Kathy captioned her post, “I’m a few hours post-op and back home, comfortable, resting, and not in any pain. I’m a little sleepy, as expected, and will be taking it easy for the next few days.”
“Today I had a neck and lower facelift, along with a brow lift and lower blepharoplasty,” she shared. “As I mentioned before, this isn’t about changing the face I’ve known and loved for 60 years. It’s simply about restoring and refreshing what time has naturally changed.”
“I’ve chosen to share this journey openly because I know so many people are curious about the process and may be considering something similar themselves. I’ll continue to keep you updated along the way.”
Kathy’s caption accompanied a video of herself with bandages on her face, which still had pen markings from the surgery. She told her fans she was “feeling no pain” and “everything went well.”
“I haven’t taken any pain meds because I don’t have any pain. You can see I’m speaking just fine. I’m taking it easy today. I just had something to eat. There’s a little swelling, and I still have markings from the doctor. Excited to see the results.”
