The Bachelor ‘winner‘ Rachael Kirkconnell is getting through the aftermath of Matt James dumping her with escapism courtesy of pop culture.
Bachelor Nation‘s beauty told Cosmopolitan which ladies from the pop-culture sphere have helped her through this tough time.
My boy only breaks his favorite toys:
Like most millennials, Rachael leaned on the music of Taylor Swift to help her cope with being dumped. “Obviously, The Tortured Poets Department,” laughed Rachael about her current playlist.
“Yeah, anything Taylor right now is great. I’ve been really loving Doechii.”
“I haven’t been listening to podcasts, but someone I’ve really been obsessing over lately — and I think it’s just because her movie [One of Them Days] just came out — is Keke Palmer.”
“Anything that [Keke] does or says, I’m sat. She takes my mood from “I’m not feeling it” to “I can conquer the world.”
Matt James blindsided Rachael:
Rachael detailed what happened the couple’s last night together … which was during a trip to Tokyo. “I was feeling very overwhelmed; I was trying so hard to find a good dinner spot for us. I was putting so much pressure on finding a good spot because he cares. This is, like, his career, you know, going to good food spots … Literally every single meal that we would have, we were filming.”
Ultimately, the restaurant Rachael picked was “not good,” and she was upset. “This sounds crazy, but as a food person, I’m trying to make sure that he’s getting good content for our trip and stuff, because I know it’s important to him, and it’s something that we’ll both post about.”
Rachael being upset caused Matt to get annoyed. He broke up with her the next morning. Matt told her, “I don’t know if I ever see myself proposing to you” and “I can’t actually see myself married to you.”
